The layout of OMR sheets differ with the various types of competitive examinations held across India. While some OMR tests are comprised of simple MCQ based objective examinations, others feature complex test patterns like column matching, matrix type and integer type questions, etc. IIT JEE, conducted nationwide each year, uses complex patterns as such, and Addmen has been catering to IIT JEE since 2006.
Addmen OMR software comes with a designing feature, which you can use to design various formats of OMR sheets, including IIT JEE Main OMR sheets and IIT JEE Advanced OMR sheets.
A wide range of features offered by the advanced versions of Addmen OMR software makes it the preferred choice for IIT Joint Entrance Examination.
Besides the differences in the test pattern, IIT JEE also uses unique, complex answering pattern. In most MCQ based OMR tests, questions are subject to only one correct answer each.
Whereas, IIT Joint Entrance Examination contains questions that require the students to mark more than one answer options to receive the scores for a particular question.
Here are the different types of questions found in IIT JEE OMR test sheets:
These questions usually have four options (ABCD) from which the students have to choose either one or multiple correct answers.
In case of multiple correct answers, IIT JEE exam pattern expects the student to mark all the answers correctly to gain full marks for a particular question.
Matrix type question is when a question includes a set of questions, each with 4-5 options.
This pattern is used when a group of questions is considered to be one single question. It is used for questions based on passage as well as for column matching ones.
Each row has different marks and the total marks of the student for a particular question would be the total marks received in each of the row. However, certain exam patterns expect the students to answer all the rows correctly to receive marks; even one mistake can lead to zero marks. Negative marking can also be applied for this type of question.
Integer type question is used when the answer to question is numerical.
In the case of single digit answer, one column of digits from 0 to 9 is provided and in case of double digits answer, two columns are provided with the numbers 0-99 as options.
Addmen's OMR sheet designing software is flexible enough to cater to all these requirements, and hence is being used for preparing the IIT JEE OMR sheets since long.
